James McClung

James A. McClung has extensive global business experience that has taken him to more than 75 countries during his career, in addition to living in Africa and Europe. Jim is a recognized expert in building and managing results-oriented businesses, the corporate governance required to operate them and the development of global executives. Jim held several executive management level positions at FMC Corporation, retiring as senior vice president-international and executive officer when FMC’s international revenues exceeded $2.5 billion. He developed new technologies and production processes to improve capabilities and operational performance to achieve profitable growth. He was a pioneer and driving force in developing FMC’s business in China, Asia, India, former Soviet Republics and Africa.

Jim continues to build on his consistent reputation for bottom-line and turn-around management excellence across a diversified portfolio of business sectors. His corporate board of directors’ experience includes nine private, public and family-owned companies in chemical, machinery, consumer and services. He is currently active with the Japan America Society, Economic Club of Chicago, Executives’ Club of Chicago, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and other civic and cultural organizations. He also serves as a trustee for several university boards.

Jim earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster and received their Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014. He also holds a master’s degree from the University of Kansas and a doctorate from Michigan State University.
